Practice Statement
Ms. Fairbanks received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wyoming in 1989. She received her J.D. from the University of Wyoming College of Law in 1992, where she was actively involved in moot court competitions, and was inducted into the Order of the Barristers. Ms. Fairbanks' interest in litigation took her to Europe, where she studied civil rights litigation at the London Inns of Court and the Salzburg University Austro-American Institute of Education with Justice Anthony Kennedy.
Ms. Fairbanks began her legal career as an intern for the Teton County Attorney's Office in Jackson, Wyoming, and from there moved to Colorado to continue her litigation practice, focusing primarily on civil litigation, employment law, and workers' compensation. Ms. Fairbanks was also responsible for several legislative changes to the Workers' Compensation Act in 1995, and continues to actively participate in the Colorado legislative arena. Ms. Fairbanks' practice continues to emphasize trial work, with an emphasis on employment law, worker's compensation defense, and general liability defense.
Ms. Fairbanks is a member of the Denver, Arapahoe County and Colorado Bar Associations, the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association, and Professionals in Workers' Compensation.
