Bob Treece is a Colorado native, born in Colorado Springs, who attended the University of Chicago and University of Colorado for his undergraduate studies. Prior to beginning his practice, Mr. Treece served in the United States Air Force, and worked as an insurance claims adjuster at Cigna, Crocker Claims and Ohio Casualty to put himself through law school.
After graduating from D.U.'s School of Law, Bob wound down his insurance claims work and transitioned into law as an Assistant Public Defender for the City and County of Denver. He went into private practice in 1969 with Yegge, Hall and Evans where, as an associate and later partner, he gained defense experience in virtually every aspect of civil litigation. By the mid-1970s he was elected Managing Partner, and his career emphasis turned to a focus on insurance defense matters. In 1991, along with founding shareholders Tom Alfrey and Rich Musat, Bob formed Treece, Alfrey & Musat, P.C.
Mr. Treece has tried to verdict hundreds of jury trials in federal and state courts in almost every area of law, with an emphasis on products liability and defense of licensed professionals. He is one of the founders of the American Law Firm Association, having served as president for two separate terms.
Mr. Treece was formerly a member of the American Judicature Society, as well as the prestigious International Association of Defense Counsel. Mr. Treece has lectured on litigation matters at PLUS, and with both the Colorado Bar Association and Colorado Defense Lawyers Association, as well as published articles in his areas of practice emphasis.
